nono is a modular, dot-matrix–based font family that explores the possibilities of typing with color and features a no-descender design — letters that usually have descenders, like 'g', 'p', or 'y', stay entirely above the baseline. This idea comes from Xiaoyuan’s personal experience: when she was learning to write Latin letters in primary school in China, no one ever taught or corrected her on the concept of descenders — so she just wrote them however she liked. This absence of knowledge became a playful inspiration, turning an unintentional habit into a conscious design choice.
